To be completely honest with you, this course was inspired by my old self. You see, I began my healing journey at the age of 16, in a desperate attempt to heal my chronic depression, social anxiety and OCD.

I dove head first into meditation, self-help books and the law of attraction. I worked tirelessly to practice positive thinking and gratitude for years… but nothing in me or around me seemed to change. 

I couldn’t understand what I was doing wrong. I could not get away from my negative patterns, in fact it felt as if they were growing stronger.

It wasn’t until things became so difficult that I couldn’t force myself to be positive anymore... which was when things began to turn around…

You see, I stopped trying to run away from my problems. I gave up. THAT was my turning point. I finally began feeling my deeply painful and scary emotions. I stopped masking my pain and learned to sit with my darkness. THAT was when life started to finally give me a break. 

I didn’t know it at the time but what I had begun doing was shadow work. My healing accelerated in such a short amount of time after that pivotal point. And it continues to...

This is for the skeptics! Like many of you, I discovered Ediya through YouTube and enjoyed her meditation videos. "Energy healing" and "shadow work" and the like sounded a bit "out there," but eventually I had to acknowledge that I was intrigued by this person and her sense of calm. And I desperately wanted to change the way I spoke to myself, as I've struggled with self-hatred even after years of (otherwise very helpful) traditional psychotherapy. So I tried the six-week Inner Peace Accelerator. 

I always looked forward to seeing Ediya and the other group members at our sessions, as they have an extremely warm and compassionate atmosphere, but at first I resisted hypnosis. I'd wonder if I was meditating "correctly" or worry that I was not capable of being hypnotized because I didn't visualize things as vividly as I would have liked. However, I continued to do the exercises, because if you're going to try something, it's only fair to give it 100% before you write it off.

LEARN WITH THE SUBCONSCIOUS

Most teachings don't stick because when you are absorbing information with the conscious mind, there is often cognitive dissonance as the new information conflicts with your already-set belief systems.

What if I told you that the subconscious mind, seen from another perspective, is actually the body?! And one way of connecting to the subconscious mind and your intuitive wisdom is through embodiment (which I will teach you in the Inner Peace Accelerator).

Research in Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) has revealed that there is no distinction between body and mind, and as neuroscientist, Candace Pert, describes it, “the body is actually a physical manifestation of the subconscious mind. Past experiences, conditioning, habits are all stored in the body at the cellular level, providing a framework through which we relate to the world.”

Let that sink in…

Additionally, just as 90% of your brain activity is subconscious, 90% of nerve signals flow from the body to the mind. Coincidence? I think not…

SO WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR US?

The issue with modern day humans is we spend so much time in our minds that we have completely disowned the body and our ability to FEEL. 

DISembodiment is the norm in today’s society. And that’s a huge problem. It is the reason why mental health issues are rising higher than ever.

It is disembodiment that has us believing we are our thoughts. It has us stuck in our fears and limiting beliefs. 

We are always avoiding our emotions. But every time we avoid feeling, we disrupt the natural flow of information sent by the nerve signals from the body to the mind (which is a lot of information, 90% remember). 

This constant repression of sensations and emotions is eventually what impairs the mind-body system, leading to stress overload which can develop into mental disorders, chronic pain and even physical illness.

We don't know how to live in our bodies because we were raised to live in our heads. It can appear as though the body only serves to carry our brains around. But this couldn’t be further from the truth.

It is time that we all reconnected to the body/subconscious and rediscovered our wholeness. It is time that we restored trust in our innate healing capabilities. It is time that we let go of our limiting identities built on fears and traumas, and embraced a fuller authentic way of life led by intuitive wisdom.

When we do this, we regain natural spontaneity and curiosity about life. We gain a renewed innocence about life and begin to live in flow. We experience synchronicities and return to an intrinsic sense of self-love and compassion. Our intuition strengthens as it becomes a merging of rationality and instinctual evolutionary wisdom.
